A video circulating on social media showing popular YouTuber Elvish Yadav being escorted by police vehicles has sparked controversy, with Jaipur Police refuting claims of providing him any security escort.
Jaipur Police Commissioner Biju George Joseph clarified on Tuesday, stating, “We have not provided any such escort to anyone; it could be an old video.” When questioned about the video posted by Yadav, Joseph added, “If anyone is circulating a video after editing it, then we will take action after filing an FIR.”
Further, Additional Commissioner (Crime) Kunwar Rashtradeep revealed that the cyber police station of Jaipur Police has registered an FIR against Yadav in connection with the video.
The controversy stems from a vlog posted on Monday on Elvish Yadav’s YouTube channel, Elvish Yadav Vlogs. In the video, Yadav claimed he was in Jaipur for a shoot and showed multiple police vehicles with sirens blaring, allegedly escorting him through various locations in the city. A youth driving the vehicle in the vlog can also be heard informing Yadav that as many as 10 police vehicles from different stations would accompany them.
The video has since attracted significant attention, with viewers questioning the authenticity of the events depicted. Jaipur Police’s investigation is ongoing, and they have warned of strict action if the video is found to have been manipulated.
