Stand-up comedian Samay Raina has broken his silence on the controversy surrounding the latest episode of his YouTube show India’s Got Latent. The uproar began after podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, popularly known as BeerBiceps, made a highly controversial “Sex With Parents” remark on the show. The backlash escalated, prompting the Mumbai Police to summon both Raina and Allahbadia for an inquiry.
Samay Raina Removes India’s Got Latent Videos
In response to the growing criticism, Raina announced on Wednesday that he has taken down all episodes of India’s Got Latent from his YouTube channel. He shared his decision on X (formerly Twitter), writing:
“Everything that is happening has been too much for me to handle. I have removed all India’s Got Latent videos from my channel. My only objective was to make people laugh and have a good time. I will fully cooperate with all agencies to ensure their inquiries are concluded fairly. Thank you.”

Raina’s legal team informed the Mumbai Police that he is currently on a tour in the United States and will return to Mumbai on March 17. However, authorities have insisted that the investigation cannot wait that long and directed Raina to appear within 14 days of the inquiry’s commencement.
Statements Recorded in the Case
The Khar Police have already recorded statements from six individuals associated with the show, including judges Ashish Chanchlani and Apoorva Makhija, studio owner Balraj Ghai, and three members of the technical crew.
The India’s Got Latent Controversy
The controversy began when Ranveer Allahbadia made an offensive remark during an episode, asking a contestant:
“Would you rather watch your parents have sex for the rest of your life or join in once to stop it forever?”
This comment sparked outrage among viewers and drew criticism from multiple quarters. The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has since demanded a ban on the show and legal action against those responsible.
The controversy continues to unfold, with investigations underway and widespread discussions about the limits of humor and content responsibility in the digital age. Further updates are awaited as authorities and those involved navigate the ongoing inquiry.
